Ozone day celebrations seminar ‘ Unite to Sustain ‘

As part of World Ozone Day celebration, the Department of Electronics & Computer Maintenance and the Department of Biotechnology, Union Christian College, Aluva in association with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment organized a seminar “Unite to Sustain Life ” on October 3rd , 2016.

The United Nations (UN) celebrates September 16 as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.  It commemorates the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol (1987) on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer. The day focuses on the need to protect the ozone layer to save the mankind and the environment.

The theme for Ozone Day 2016 is “Ozone and Climate: restored by a World United”. The day is mainly intended to spread awareness of the depletion of the ozone layer and search for solutions to preserve it.
