Science (ECC), in association with the University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau, successfully conducted a Career Meet in Data Science on 7th July 2025 at VMH, Union Christian College, Aluva. The session was jointly organized by the Departments of ECC and Computer Science as part of the Placement and Guidance Cell’s 2025–26 initiatives to expose students to evolving and in-demand career fields.
The resource person for the session was Dr. Alwin Paulose, Assistant Professor at the School of Data Science, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram. He addressed the students on emerging opportunities in the field of Data Science, its interdisciplinary nature, the growing demand for data professionals, and the skillsets required to excel in this domain. Targeted at B.Sc. graduates, the session provided a clear roadmap for pursuing higher studies or careers in data science, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Dr. Paulose also shared insights on academic pathways, certifications, and real-world applications of data-driven decision-making across industries.
The session was informative, engaging, and well-received by the attendees, leaving them inspired and better informed about the promising scope of data science as a career path.
